About us
Yarn’n doesn’t fit into one service square as we have three streams to our business which continuously interconnect. We are an Aboriginal employment agency, an employment consultancy and a social enterprise facilitator.
Being Aboriginal owned and operated and with extensive experience across these fields of work, we don’t operate like your average recruitment agency or consultancy service or enterprise facilitator.
Our organisation is built on our core values of partnerships for outcomes, recognition of the value Aboriginal people offer Australian workplaces and the value Australian corporate offer Aboriginal communities and individual success, be you a client or a job candidate.
Our three streams of business are managed in a matrix which allows each team member to actively contribute to everything we do.
Over the last two years we have established a range of partnerships and strategies to facilitate Aboriginal employment opportunities. Examples of these include:
Darby McCarthy Aboriginal Employment Strategy for the Thoroughbred Racing Industry is an initiative which has and continues to place Aboriginal people in the horse racing industry across Australia, of which we recently celebrated an 83% retention rate of those placed in jobs one year ago.
Julia Ross Indigenous Talent Strategy and Program is an initiative to open doors and increase the number of Aboriginal people working both within Julia Ross offices across Australia as well as their corporate clients most of whom are among Australia’s leading businesses.
Sydney South West Area Health Service Aboriginal Workforce Strategy seeks to increase the number of Aboriginal people employed across all occupational areas and levels, within this, the largest health service in Australia. This success of this strategy is the 85% retention rate of Aboriginal people placed in permanent roles and traineeships across professional, technical, management and administrative positions.
